Milestone Moment: How Procogia Used Bucketlist To Celebrate Their 10 Year Anniversary By Giving Back

ProCogia team

ProCogia celebrated their 10-year anniversary earlier this year with a heartwarming employee engagement campaign: 10-Days-of-Giving.

They wanted to celebrate this milestone by giving back to the community – as a team. Overall, the campaign landed well and saw a significant amount of engagement. This is just one example of how organizations can use their employee rewards and recognition program to inspire and unite employees through meaningful initiatives!

Rather than just celebrating, we wanted to give back to our community and the communities of our employees.

In a Nutshell, What Was the 10-Days-of-Giving Campaign?

In short: 10 days. 10 charities.

Over the span of 10 days, 10 different charitable organizations were showcased (one per day). Employees were able to donate to the causes that spoke to them, learn about new charities, and deepen the relationships they had with one another.

Each morning, ProCogia introduced one of the ten chosen charities on the Bucketlist Rewards Platform, which was seamlessly integrated with their Slack channel – pinging the team with helpful notifications!

How Did it Come to Life?

The 10-Days-of-Giving Campaign was an initiative championed by ProCogia’s People and Culture Team. ProCogia’s decision to celebrate their 10-year anniversary through a charitable giving campaign was rooted in their team’s desire to make a positive impact on the community. From the get-go, the team knew that they wanted to celebrate ProCogia’s milestone anniversary by giving back to the community. And because ProCogians are distributed all over the world, they wanted to make sure that there was a regional charity option in every country that team members were located in.

To ensure the campaign’s success, the planning committee made sure to actively involve the rest of the team in the charity selection process through a series of round table discussions. Getting suggestions and feedback on what causes to consider helped with:

  • Team buy-in and engagement
  • Creating hype and anticipation around the event
  • Understanding what causes were truly important

The end result? The team was able to choose a variety of charities that took into account where team members were based and supported causes that people were passionate about. These were the 10 charities that were chosen:

  • Indian Residential School Survivors Society (Canada)
  • NCRI Women Committee (Iran)
  • Action Against Hunger (Africa)
  • Unicef – Earthquake Relief (Turkey & Syria)
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (USA)
  • Pardada Pardadi – Women and Girls Education and Empowerment (India)
  • ACLU LGBTQ Rights (USA)
  • Mary’s Place – Women & Children Home Safety and Stability (USA)
  • Canadian Disability Foundation (Canada)
  • Pieta – Suicide intervention and Counselling (Ireland)

ProCogia’s goal was to ensure that every team member could be involved in the decision-making process and feel that their donations were making an impact on something they truly cared about. This inclusive approach helped foster a sense of ownership among employees, making the campaign more meaningful and inspiring.

ProCogia opted to run the campaign through their Bucketlist Rewards platform due to its all-in-one solution:

  • Donations handling – Once set up, all the donations were done directly through the platform’s rewards marketplace and there was no need for administrative maintenance
  • Daily event announcements – Being able to promote the campaign directly within the platform and allowing people to interact with the event posts was crucial. Having an educational component to this campaign, where team members could learn about each of the charities, was extremely important.
  • Building human connections – A driving factor for success was the opportunity for human interaction – whether it was verbal, on Slack, or through the Bucketlist platform! A campaign like this is such a great conversation starter, allowing people to learn important and personal things about each other that brings everyone closer together 💙
  • Slack integration – By leveraging the Bucketlist & Slack integration, visibility and accessibility was maximized to encourage broader participation
  • Reporting – ProCogia wanted to measure and analyze the campaign results to gauge employee engagement levels and identify improvements that should be made for next time

We choose to use Bucketlist for this campaign as it was the easiest all-in-one platform: We could advertise it throughout the company, keep track of donations to each charity and it was the most user-friendly for employees.

The End Results:

The 10-Days-of-Giving Campaign achieved resounding success and feedback from the team has been overwhelmingly positive. A sense of community and involvement was fostered by the celebration.

All ten charities were contributed to, which shows that the options that were offered genuinely resonated with the team. Due to the success of the campaign, ProCogia has decided to keep the charities up in their rewards marketplace so that people could continue to use their reward points towards donations.

In fact, 20% of all ProCogia employee reward redemptions this year were donated towards this campaign. The average we typically see is 1%.

One team member felt so empowered by this campaign that they requested for an additional charity to be included as a cause that ProCogia employees have the choice to contribute to.

“Everyone loved the idea of giving back; we have since kept the charities up so that people can donate their ProCogs points at anytime.” – Shauna, People and Culture at ProCogia

The Power of Recognition and Rewards at ProCogia:

Rewards and recognition (R&R) is at the core of ProCogia’s employee engagement strategy. ProCogia believes that acknowledging the work and effort that people do plays a crucial role in creating a positive and productive workplace culture. By valuing their employees and celebrating their accomplishments, ProCogia fosters a sense of appreciation and belonging among its team.

In fact, R&R is a tool they use to help their team live out their core values. Trust, Growth, Innovation, and Excellence are the four values that are most important to them. And they strive to build a culture that aligns with this. This campaign is a great example of ProCogia bringing their core values to life as a team.

Not only does ProCogia focus on recognizing the work that the team does, the company places great importance on recognizing its team as whole people with passions and aspirations outside work. They identified that philanthropy was something really meaningful to their team, and decided that the best way to honour this was to center their decade-long milestone around it.

However, the real secret sauce for ProCogia’s success with R&R has been their decision to implement peer-to-peer recognition. Since its launch, peer-to-peer recognition has seen substantial growth, with employees acknowledging and appreciating each other’s contributions more frequently. This culture of recognizing one another has instilled a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork within the organization, building Trust, Growth, and Excellence!

Since implementing the Bucketlist Rewards Platform, ProCogia has observed the positive impact of rewards and recognition on its company culture.

Peer-to-peer recognition has increased, and they’ve been seeing the number of recognitions grow after the first month that it was launched. Achievements are being showcased and shared throughout the organization. The team at ProCogia finds rewards and recognition a great addition to their company culture.

The rewards redemption process is meaningful to them as well. In addition to options like gift cards and local experiences, having the option to give to charitable causes has been a particularly important experience for the team at ProCogia. The diversity of options speaks volumes to ProCogia’s goal to accommodate various personal preferences and reward people in the way that’s most significant to them.

It brings us great joy to see how the team at ProCogia has leveraged the Bucketlist Rewards platform and integrated recognition and rewards into the DNA of their culture. We are continuously inspired by their commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. There is no doubt that their dedication to celebrating each other, promoting personal and professional growth, and giving back to the community is what cultivates Trust, Excellence, and Innovation.

We were especially honoured to hear that the Bucketlist Rewards Platform had such a part to play in bringing this 10-Days-of-Giving Campaign to life. We are proud to be a part of your journey, ProCogia!

We had an incredibly positive experience, as it successfully included all employees. We had a great participation rate was truly gratifying, and receiving verbal feedback from individuals expressing their enjoyment was immensely rewarding. Many individuals suggested that the charities remain open and accessible in the future. Based on these factors, I wholeheartedly recommend utilising the Bucketlist platform for initiatives like this without any hesitation.
